Has anyone seen the book, SOUTH PARK CONSERVATIVES by Brian C. Anderson? I saw it today before checking out THE AMITYVILLE HORROR.

Haven't read the book! Have no idea what's in it! But, I think I know the direction it's headed and, as rough as the message might be, think we might want to give the SPC's (hey, think that one will catch on?) a second look.

My beef with conservatives is tied up with their dalliances with Jerry Falwell, James Dobson, and other members of the 'Religious Reich'. While I might engage debate over their financial policies, ultimately I could accept a social conservative, who favors sexual, herbal, and religious freedom, over a religious conservative who only wants freedom for himself. And wishes to confine perverts and potheads to rehab prisons!

Matt and Trey have always said they were card carrying Republicans. No one believed them, but if you analyze SP, they are. They just leave enough wiggle room at the end to create the impression they're not taking stands. They are. Really, they're more suited to the Libertarian Party.

I was involved in Libertarian Party politics for awhile, but left when I realized (in my constitutionally protected opinion) that the LP was really a watered down version of the Republican Party. In fact, I sometimes think the purpose of the Libertarian Party is to keep the social conservatives (read 'perverts and potheads') confined to an organization that has no hope of ever acheiving national influence.

Today, it looks like the social conservatives (read: SPC, South Park Conservatives) are tired of being marginalized into a party stymied by endless 'Robert's Rules of Orders' and are demanding their say! In spite of differences I have with the current Republican Party, I want to encourage more SPC behavior within their ranks.

There are tough times ahead for those of us who value free expression! The Religious Reich, and the SPC's, might be friendly with each other in public. Privately, they cannot occupy the same party without one folding. And I'd rather the Religious Reich fold to South Park!

Remember, these people are crafty and will stoop to nothing! Alas, we might have to do the same. Perhaps those of us who favor free expression, should just, en masse, join the Republican Party so we can tip the vote in favor of the SPC's!

It's not like they wouldn't do the same thing to us! In fact, they have. . .

There are many accounts of Republicans funding Democratic candidates in order to divide the vote from a more serious Democrat who would otherwise gain mucho votes.

Rich liberals should examine the possibility of secretly funding a religious rebellion within the Republican Party! Create a Moral Majority party who'se sole purpose would be to divide the vote!

Devious? Yes. . .

Do we bear the risk of becoming as corrupt as them?

Always. . .

Can we simply do nothing?

Yes, if you're financially well off. . .or can survive in a tent. . .

Otherwise, we must summon our inner 'Karl Rove' and get ready to wrestle in the mud.

The times, they are becoming filthier. . .
